Long Description
This authentic and elegant saree is a product of traditional Indian craftsmanship, originating from regions such as Bagru in Rajasthan. [1.13] It is woven from Kota Doria fabric, a fine blend of cotton and silk threads that is known for its lightweight, sheer texture and characteristic square-check pattern called khats. [1.4, 1.13]
The body features a natural grey or charcoal base adorned with intricate white/off-white patterns created using time-honoured hand-block printing techniques. [1.13, 1.14] These techniques include Bagru print (using natural dyes) and Dabu print (a mud-resist method that produces unique, slightly cracked lines and textures). [1.13] The motifs often include traditional paisley, floral, or geometric patterns, and the border features a distinct black and gold/tan edge. [1.4, 1.13] It is a versatile choice, ideal for casual wear, office wear, or small gatherings, and comes with an unstitched running blouse piece.
